The Alliance members know that dive events are a great way to get divers involved in new dive activities, to open divers to a new diving environment and to get divers together in a friendly and fun environment. It is part of the mission of the Riviera Maya Divers Alliance to build and excute fun and interesting dive events throughout the year.
The Riviera Maya is a great place to foster these types of activities due to the diversity of diving options. Look for new events each year and make your diving plans based on our event schedule!

Join us in the hunt for Lion Fish starting April 15, 2010. In a freak Florida accident, lion fish were released into the ocean and have spread throughout the Caribbean Ocean, from Florida to Venezuela. This poses an eco risk to the fish in the Caribbean who are not familar with the lion fish. Indigenous to the Asian Pacific, local Caribbean fish are not aware of the eating habits of lion fish and Caribbean waters do not have natural predators like the East. Learn what the lion fish do, safe ways to capture, their habits, where they live in the ocean and why this is hazardous to the Caribbean ocean.
